Included below are the reports for the Hedgerow, Woodland and Unimproved Grassland Surveys.

They form a large part of what Wild Roseland would like to accomplish in the future but it take significant organisation, expertise and volunteering that can be replicated over a number of seasons..

The collection of environmental data is an important activity in understanding the ecology and landscape value of the Roseland Area. Wild Roseland identified data collection as one of a number of key tasks for the group to undertake. A number of surveys have been carried out by the group looking at a variety of habitats and species, e.g. woodlands, hedgerows, Barn Owls and hedgehogs.

In 2019 in collaboration with Cornwall Wildlife Trust surveys were undertaken of broadleaved woodland cover as it was the easiest land cover type to identify and assess due to its physical presence in the landscape and its visual accessibility.  The results of that survey are contained within the Woodland report

As the next step Wild Roseland carried out similar ground-truthing surveys for the unimproved grassland on the Roseland Peninsular.

The aim of this project is to determine the level to which unimproved grassland habitat on the Roseland peninsular is extant. The grassland surveys were undertaken in the summer of 2022 by volunteers and the results of that survey and the conclusions drawn are contained within the Grasslands report.
